Figuring June

Took a ride passing through those city lights
I blew that sign, you said we'd be just fine
we laughed, you put your head back
It became long drives meeting up at midnight
our bodies talked and our hands went for a walk
out of our minds, leave the world behind
Laying down feel your chest begin to pound
hands to the sky constellations fill your eyes
and the moon is humming through you.
It took a month for me to say that I know I'd be okay
Wait for the right lies at the right time.
To the East side where the water meets the sky
reflections wave to the shore brings a new day
what's the time, losing track of life.
Eyes light up watch the streets from up above
and by the wrist in your arms we're hip to hip
with the night, opening our eyes.
It's been 3 months, now I can say that I know I'll be okay
Wait for the right lies at the right time.
I wait for the day as I lie awake in August
awake in June
The night goes by as I lie awake in August
awake in June.
